Igor Koruga is a freelance artist working within contemporary dance and choreography. He graduated in MA studies at the University of Belgrade, Philosophy Faculty, department for anthropology, and at Solo/Dance/Authorship studies at Universitat der Kunste/HZT in Berlin.
Igor is a member of STATION since 2006. He participated in many artistic projects and non-institutional educational platforms locally, regionally and internationally (TASK/Zagreb, Summer Coaching programme/Brussels, FastForward/Belgrade/Skopje, KulturKontakt Austria, Temporaries/Belgrade & TanzFabrik Berlin/APAP network, Resonance/Belgrade&Poznan etc.). He was a recipient of scholarships for dance educational programmes DanceWeb, Nomad Dance Academy and as well of the Tanzstipendium Berlin Senate. Igor has collaborated with various local and international organizations such are Cedeum (RS), REX Culture centre (RS) Walking Theory (RS), Weld (SE), Workspace Brussels (BEL), Lokomotiva (MK), Brainstore Project (BUL), Trafo (HU), ProHelvetia (POL). As a dancer and choreographer he worked within different theatre and cultural institutions (National Theatre, Belgrade / BITEF Theatre, Belgrade / Dansens Hus, Stockholm / Tanz Quartier and Museum Quartier, Vienna / Trafo Theatre, Budapest / DOCK 11, Berlin / Uferstudios, Berlin / HAU, Berlin etc).
In his artistic work, Igor is focused on applying choreography as a tool for interpreting and researching socio-cultural phenomena, values, relations, structures and ideologies.
