„I realized that I do not distinguish anymore my civil (casual) body from the performing body. My casual body, since the day I was born, has begun to learn different things, to absorb sensations, to be aware through experiences, to acknowledge the rules. So this body, on a daily bases, relies on the experiences that it has gathered and acts already instinctual most of the time.

Therefore most of the actions and gestures that I do, for example: walking, running, sitting, watching as well as the intentions behind those actions, are a way to express myself. These are no longer unknown; they have become my raw material as a performer, with whom I can express easily.

At a certain point in time I had no place to perform in Romania and I wrote for a project – “my trained body, used to express through movement, is now part of the the big mass of untrained bodies”. An error that had its origins in the idea that as a dancer I have some extra information that sometimes I arrive using it outside the stage, outside of the performance.

But in the same way my body as a performer uses the information of everyday life. Reaching this conclusion I realized that all these variations of body have become the normal status in a performance situation. Between walking on a street and dancing on stage my body senses no difference.”

“ Shvatio sam da vise ne razlikujem moje civilno (svakodnevno) telo od mog izvodjackog tela.  Moje svakodnevno telo, od dana kada sam rodjen, je počelo da uči različite stvari, da upija senzacije, da stiče svest kroz iskustva, da prihvata pravila. Dakle, ovo telo se svakodnevno oslanja na iskustva koja je sticalo i najcesce se ponasa instiktivno.

Zbog toga su akcije i gestovi koje činim, na primer: hodanje, trčanje, sedenje, gledanje kao i sve intencije koje se kriju iza ovih akcija, način da se izrazim. One više nisu nepoznate; postale su moj sirov izvođački materijal, kojim mogu lako da se izrazim.

U izvesnom trenutku sam ostao bez prostora za izvodjenje u Rumuniji i napisao sam u projektu: “moje trenirano telo, naviknuto da se izražava kroz pokret, je sada deo velike mase netreniranih tela”. Greška potiče od ideje da kao plesač imam više informacija koje koristim izvan scene, izvan predstave.

Istovremeno moje izvođačko telo koristi informaciju iz svakodnevnog života.
Došao sam do zaključka da su sve ove varijacije tela postale normalno stanje u izvođačkoj situaciji. Moje telo ne oseća više razliku između hodanja po ulici i plesa na sceni.”
